Summary
FICTION. AUSTRALIAN. Ray and his friends Matty and Lurch have planned the best prank ever. On the day when everyone in their street will be attending a street party, they'll move the pets from each backyard into the neighbour's yard! What could be funnier? Because Ray has to try on his penguin suit for his sister's wedding, he's afraid he'll miss it all - but his mates wouldn't dream of leaving him out of the fun. Everything goes to plan at first, but then there are problems. Ray is alarmed when old Mrs Dolson's beloved budgies escape from their cage. And although he thinks it's very clever when Matty and Lurch replace his sister's future father-in-law's prize-winning bantams with frozen roasting chooks, something about this does bother him a little. It's only later that Ray's chickens really come home to roost. He didn't want to be a groomsman at his sister's wedding anyway, but that was nothing compared with what they're making him do now.
